The past month has been an exciting time for Tabs, hosting a Forum event with a select group of client members and also gracing this year's Service Management Exhibition at the NEC. We always welcome such events as they provide an excellent opportunity to hear from both existing and potential clients concerning our products and services. Room Booking Enhancements
Have you ever wondered how to update the catering/equipment on all bookings for a group booking if the number of people has changed?
What about amending the room, start time or date of all future bookings in a group if a requirement is changed? Well, ponder no more!
We have intelligently enhanced the room booking system to cater, no pun intended, for these eventualities and streamline processes. Now, when you make an amendment to one booking in a group, the system will offer to update all future bookings with the same change. Validation checks are also applied to ensure that amendments do not conflict with other bookings.
In addition to the above group booking development, the system can also apply cancellation charges to the late cancellation of bookings. This facility is now standard in our product and is configured based on your requirements. The method applied is to calculate a percentage of the room hire rate X days before the booking. Multiple percentage rates can apply.

Property Register
We have enhanced our Property Register through collaboration with a new client. As part of this development, additional fields have been added to capture items such as Lease, Rent and Review details, along with other fields, enabling a more comprehensive management of your estate/property portfolio.
A new report has also been developed offering individual building summaries. In an easy viewing format, you can detail site address, floor space, photos, planning notes, services and much more.
The Property Register module is becoming the focus for further development. For those currently using the Property Register, we welcome any comment on potential enhancement for your benefit.
Multi-Tier Quotation
The quotation system has been modified to allow for multi-tier quotation levels to be applied when constructing a quote. Item costs can now be client specific, ensuring that values are accurate and only available for individual clients.
Items can also be assigned to a ‘Group’ or ‘Type’, both of which are filters embedded within our ‘Automatic Quotation’ form that’s used to quickly select items and build a quotation.
The Multi-Tier quotation system has been designed to make your life easier. You can quote us on that!
Workforce Diary Authorisation Procedure
Our online Workforce Diary system has now been enhanced to support a structured authorisation procedure. The new development offers great benefits to any line manager wishing to accurately control Workforce absences for their employees.
So how does it work? When an employee requests leave of absence via the Tabs Intranet System, an automatic email is sent directly to their associated line manager or another designated person to authorise approval. This process takes place prior to the request reaching the main system. Authorisers can approval requests via the Tabs Intranet interface prior to acceptance.
Asbestos Warning
Health and Safety Management is a key area of concern for Facilities and Estates Managers. One area in particular is organising work in close proximity to an Asbestos risk.
We have addressed such situations by clearly warning users of the presence of Asbestos for any jobs raised within the Tabs system. Previously the system would flag the presence of asbestos for a location when recording a job and via the job sheet
The system has now been enhanced to clearly display a warning message regarding asbestos when reviewing a job via the MIS console. In addition to this, we have incorporated a similar process when reviewing a job via the Tabs Mobile system. Through the Tabs Mobile system, a warning will appear containing details of asbestos presence, thereby informing staff to follow appropriate Health and Safety procedure.
Data Import Utility Update
Some of you may be aware that we have been working with several PAT Testing devices, to ensure a link between Tabs and PAT data captured. Data captured through Seaward devices can be imported into your Tabs database, to assist with the management of data. We would now like to add to our list of available devices, the Robin Smart PAT range.
