Tabs News...
Welcome to the latest flip flop and Prosecco edition of the Tabs newsletter. We recommend Valdobbiadene Domenico de Bertiol, the only Prosecco served at Harry’s Bar in Venice. Have a Bellini on us!
The summer period is always a pleasurable time, not just because of great weather and anticipated breaks, but also because the usual morning trip to work is that little bit easier, thus beginning the day a little more relaxed.
Although this period delays many business decisions, we have been extremely busy with new clients, system upgrades and health checks and also addressing many development specifications for existing clients as they seek to enhance and bespoke their solutions.
As usual, we hope you find this newsletter informative and don't forget, there's still chance to register for our Tennis Day.
We know there are some sporty Tabs users out there, just give us a call.
New Development
Dangerous Occurrences Intelligent Workflow
Our web development team has revamped the existing Accident Reporting system, offering an intelligent workflow solution in accordance with HSE regulations. The new web-based user interface offers the ability to report dangerous occurrences via a simple and effective online form.
The workflow aspect of the web interface is delivered through intelligent questions. The flow of further questions is determined by answers inputted by users, thus ensuring all details relating to the accident or incident are accurately and efficiently captured.
As you would expect, the new web-based interface is supported by Tabs FM's powerful administration system. Offering a host of reports (including RIDDOR), the administration system completes the process by offering fields to record actions taken against each occurrence for monitoring and audits. Actions may include raising Reactive Maintenance tasks, recording accident investigation details, property damage or insurance claims.
For a sneak preview of the new web-based reporting system, please contact Rob Whalley (robertwhalley@tabsfm.com) who will arrange access.
Intranet Homepage Links
The ability to upload/attach supporting documents through the Tabs Intranet System has been a realised benefit for many of our users. The feature has proven to be an ideal tool to deliver shared documents throughout your organisation. To extend this service further, our developers have included the ability to add hyperlinks to external websites or hosted documents.
Using a simple online form, users can create hyperlinks to either appear on the landing page of the intranet or within the module sub menus. It is only the 'Intranet Content Editors' who have the ability to add/edit/remove hyperlinks from the Intranet System. When users click a hyperlink, the external link is delivered in a separate browser window so not to detract users from the current Tabs Intranet Application.

Lone Worker Protection - Instant Alert
You may recall in previous newsletters the introduction of InTechnology's Push-to-Talk and Push-to-Locate services. Following feedback we gathered from our clients, InTechnology have introduced a new feature to their application.
InTechnology's Instant Communications portfolio allows users to keep in touch both locally and remotely. It's fast, effective and easy to use and provides efficient workforce management, cost savings and Lone Worker Protection.
As a quick reminder, a brief summary of InTechnology's key features include:
- Being able to speak instantly to everyone in any large geographically dispersed workforce at a single push of a button
- Having real-time staff location information to help managers make more informed operational decisions
- Using existing infrastructure wherever possible to speed up and simplify communication between office and field based staff
- Managing remote workers more effectively to drive efficiencies and savings
- Protecting your Lone or vulnerable workers to BS8484:2009 standard
InTechnology's Instant Alert service allows you to protect field workers in line with UK Lone workers Legislation. BB3G only users can raise an Instant Alert in the event of an incident. The Instant Alert service is immediate, as it is always connected to an open data channel on the mobile network - giving users the fastest possible route to raising the alarm in the event of an incident. By using the global GSM mobile phone network the service provides almost unlimited coverage for users that have to cover large geographic areas.
Custom Software Development
Over the past few years we’ve witnessed our software development team grow organically reflecting market and client demand. We realise that having superb technical resources available to develop custom applications is a valuable asset to both our own business and the FM/Services forum generally.
To help support our clients we would like to share this benefit by introducing a Custom Software Development service. With our knowledge, experience and expertise we can develop applications for you which may not necessarily fall within our usual remit of Facilities and Estates Management.
So, If you have a development opportunity, whether professional or personal, please contact us to discuss how we can help.
