Tabs News...
Welcome to the June edition of our Newsletter.
It was great to meet so many existing clients at The Facilities Show in Birmingham last month. There is often a different chemistry generated by venue and circumstance which can bring positive outcomes. Our time spent with current system users proved extremely valuable. Thanks.
We met with many potential clients during a busy three days at The NEC. The scope of Tabs Systems, deployed via MIS, Web/Intranet and Mobile Solutions is proving attractive to both Facilities/Estates Managers and to Maintenance/Service providers maintaining multiple clients.
Our enquiry levels are showing a sharp increase and although the marketplace is still one of caution, there is a strong demand for products proven to give a genuine return on investment.
Tabs FM Blog Update
Enquiry-Order-Invoice Process
Rarely do Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) Systems address the full business process of enquiry, order, execute and invoice. Tabs Systems have enjoyed this functionality for some time and have recently enhanced the process to link all invoice information with the core business accounting software.

Development Wish Lists
Existing user requirements coupled with independent market research are the two main factors which contribute towards the evolution of Tabs Systems. As promised in the 'Tabs philosophy', we have a continued commitment to introduce all client ideas, no matter how large or small, into a centralised system so we can all share the benefits of an advanced and efficient software application.
Aside from the all new .Net development we are currently investing heavily in, our vision of introducing system enhancements remains paramount. Over the past few months, our development teams have steadily been incorporating minor improvements suggested by existing users. Examples of which include:
- Maintenance Request System - Department field added to request management system. Amendments made here will update staff details automatically.
- Reactive Maintenance - Child asset details for parent assets are now visible on Job Sheets
- Reactive Maintenance - Date range filters applied to Work Review System to improve data accuracy and performance.
- Reactive Maintenance - Job history report updated for single or batch task completion
- Reactive Maintenance - The default Job Description worker will now be automatically applied when changing job description. Other filters will continue to apply.
- Asset Year Planner - User defined profile settings have been enabled to retrieve filtered data and improve data retrieval times.
- Asset Year Planner - Moving a job in the year planner now prompts to move associated jobs as well.
- Data Import Utility - Location Room Number added to the import utility.
- Room Booking System - Pop-up box widened to display Visitor details
- Room Booking System - Date of room booking request added to email confirmation subject
To benefit from these new additions, please contact us to discuss an upgrade.

Day Specific PPM Scheduling
You may recall in a previous newsletter the announcement of a slight amendment to our Data Import Utility. For those who missed the issue, please allow us to explain the new 'Start on Day' facility.
Simply put, the new Start on Day feature enables you to define day specific days for planned tasks. The previous version of the Data Import Utility would schedule tasks using 'date specific'. Thus causing tasks to occasional fall outside of normal work days, resulting in a manual process to rectify effected tasks. Within the latest offering, you will be able to define which day the task should be start on. Tasks not matching this day will automatically be moved accordingly.
A minor change with major benefits!
