Welcome to 2012

Quarter 1 always seems to disappear so quickly. Maybe it's the things we put off in December which combine to make the first months of the year race by frenetically.

We have some lofty strategies in place for 2012 including:
  • The introduction of our .NET System (more below)
  • Deployment of extended Training options (Details in next edition)
  • A Getting Closer to Clients initiative (Creating more opportunities to communicate)
Last year was a period of growth and learning for us, with significant additions to the team, enhancing the professional management of our expanding client portfolio.

The part you have played in our growth and development is greatly appreciated and we look forward to an exciting and hugely progressive year working alongside you.

We would like to thank those clients who have acted as reference sites for us, hosting visits from potential new Tabs clients and express our gratitude for the numerous referrals we receive.

Thanks...

New Development

Data Import Utility

The manual entry of stock items is often a laborious and time consuming task, especially when there are many thousands of items across multiple stores locations to import. Based on the experience of one of our major clients, we have developed a new import routine for our import utility. The new routine allows the creation of Stock Items and associated Location and Quantity levels direct from an Excel Template. Once populated the template is validated and imported directly into the system.

We've also added additional fields to the data import utility, allowing for Regions and Sub Regions to be imported along with properties. Regions have also been added to the client import routine.

Intranet Works Diary

A few new developments have taken place on our intranet systems, including the ability to hide selected workers/users from the Works Diary on Intranet. Also, on the Intranet Works Diary, we have included a new filter option which provides the ability to filter jobs to regions.

Social Media

We realise the importance of communicating with our client base. It's one of the key aspects that make Tabs Systems one of the top CAFM products within the UK. Our organic product growth has derived from a combination of client-driven development and industry knowledge. It is the communication between these sections which has helped shape the product. Over the past year or so, we've been actively involved in expanding our reach across social networks. You'll often find us sharing advice on CAFM technology, development and implementation on several industry specific forums and LinkedIn groups.

Keeping a close eye on the market, we've begun to share much more than just product and Tabs FM development via our social media campaigns. Today, on our new look Twitter or Facebook pages; you can receive regular updates from across the industry which we feel are relevant to our clients. We research many websites, articles, emails, forums etc. to bring you latest developments from across the industry.

Tip of the Month

Did you know...you can select which landing page all users arrive at when logging on to the intranet system making one step quicker to book a room or request a maintenance job.

This process can be performed quite easily by changing the setting in the Intranet System. Contact our support desk for help configuring your desired landing page.
